IGNOU B.Ed 2020: Indira Gandhi National Open University has released a notification for the IGNOU B.Ed Entrance exam. This is a national level exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This entrance exam conducted every year in 2 sessions to take admission in a 2-year B.Ed program. This program offered at various Program Study Center (PSC) of IGNOU across the country. This year NTA is conducting the IGNOU B.Ed 2020 entrance exam for July 2020 admission session. The application process for the IGNOU B.Ed exam will start on 31st January 2020.

Candidates can fill the form and apply for the IGNOU B.Ed exam up to 29th February 2020. At least 50% of marks are required to appear in the exam. The application form will be released on the official website of NTA. In case of any discrepancy in the application form, form corrections will be started on 1st or 2nd March 2020. IGNOU B.Ed 2020

IGNOU offers Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) program to all candidates who wish to make a career in the teaching field. All eligible candidates can take admission in IGNOU Bed Program by completing an entrance exam conducted by NTA. IGNOU Bed Program includes both Theory and Practical to improve teaching skills and student’s attitudes.

The IGNOU was founded by an Act of Parliament in 1985. It started by offering 2 academic programs in 1987, which is a Diploma in Management and Diploma in Distance Education. It began with a headcount of 4,528 students to offer education through Open and Distance Learning across the country. It coordinates, promotes, and regulates the standards of education across the country.

NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) recognized the NTA IGNOU B.Ed Program. B.Ed Program duration is 2 years. But, it can also be completed in a maximum duration of 5 years. This program is available in both Hindi and English medium. IGNOU Bed admission fee is Rs. 50,000/-. But, candidates should not pay the admission fee along with the application fee. They will be informed later about their admission and fee payment. Candidates can pay the fees only through Demand Draft in favor of IGNOU payable at the regional center location where applied.

IGNOU B.Ed Program has been designed to develop an understanding of the teaching-learning process at the secondary and senior secondary levels within student-teachers. The Program has the aim of enabling student-teachers to reflect critically on perspectives of education. It also enables to integrate holistically the theory. IGNOU B.Ed Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should satisfy the eligibility criteria prescribed by IGNOU for B.Ed admission. Refer to the below eligibility criteria to apply for IGNOU B.Ed admission:

  • Candidates must have secured at least 50% of marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Science/Commerce/Arts stream.
  • Candidates must have secured at least 55% of marks either in B.E. or B.Tech. with a specialization in Science and Mathematics.
  • Candidates should have taken training on in-service teachers in elementary education.
  • Candidates who have completed an NCTE recognized teacher education program by face-to-face discussion.
  • SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PwD candidates will get reservation and relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks as per the Govt of India norms.
  • As per IGNOU rules, the reservation will be provided to Kashmiri Migrants and War Widow candidates.
  • Master’s Degree received without a first degree is not considered by IGNOU for academic studies.
  • The age of all eligible candidates must be more than 21 years as on the last day of submission of the application.

IGNOU B.Ed Admit Card

IGNOU Bed 2020 Admit Card will be available online on the official website of NTA on 1st April 2020. Admit card contains the information related to the exam center, date, and shift of the exam. It is important for the candidates to read and follow the instructions printed on the admit card. If candidates are unable to download the admit card or found any discrepancy, then they can contact the Helpline between 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Then, the corrections will be made by NTA later.

IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Exam Pattern

IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Exam will be conducted in online mode in English and Hindi medium. It contains multiple-choice questions with a duration of 2 hours. Each question carries 1 mark and no negative marking in the exam. Candidates should use only a black/blue ballpoint pen to indicate their answers on the OMR sheet. The question paper is divided into 2 sections i.e, A and B. Section A is divided into 4 sub-sections as given-below:

IGNOU B.Ed Counseling

IGNOU B.Ed Admission Counseling will be conducted at various Regional Center locations.

  • The selection of candidates for the counseling sessions is based on merit in the IGNOU B.Ed 2020 entrance exam.
